Day 1: Barcelona

Welcome to Barcelona!

You will be greeted by a driver upon entering the arrivals hall at Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) and moved to your hotel. Our guide will be ready to welcome you and will provide the details you need.

Day 2: Barcelona – Girona

We’re going to get to know Barcelona today, an impressive city on the Mediterranean. Our tour involves an interactive city tour with a local specialist, dating back to the Middle Ages, to the historic center with its Gothic quarter.

Then we will visit the place where the Olympic Games were held, and the magnificent basilica built by the architect Gaudi, La Sagrada Familia (admission not included).

We will travel to the north of Catalonia in the late afternoon for a walk through the charming historical city of Girona. As well as the old Jewish quarter and the Cathedral, its colorful houses stand out.

Day 3: Girona – Nimes – Pont du Gard – Mirmande – Grenoble / Chambery

We cross the border into France and stop at Nimes, a major city of the Roman Empire. In the 2,000-year-old amphitheater here, concerts and bullfights also take place.

Then we proceed to the impressive Pont du Gard, the Roman Aqueduct mentioned by UNESCO. We will visit Mirmande later in the afternoon, an immaculately preserved Provencal village with spectacular views of the valley of the Rhone. The evening accommodation is near Grenoble.

01 April 2020 Effective
We’re leaving Spain and crossing the border into France via Provence. We will stop in Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the Roman Theatre and Romanesque churches will be on view.

Time for a walk and lunch (own fee). Admission to Carrieres de Lumieres, an outstanding show of art, picture, and sound, is also included. We will make a special side trip to La Garde-Adhemar in the late afternoon, an immaculately preserved Provencal village with breathtaking views of the valley of the Rhone. There are overnight lodgings in Chambery.

Day 4: Geneva – Chillon Castle – Gruyeres – Gstaad

We will depart for Switzerland in the morning. Our first stop: Geneva, for a panoramic tour of the main attractions, including the headquarters of the United Nations, the Flower Clock, and the famous Jet d’Eau. We will then travel to Montreux for an indoor tour of Chillon Castle, followed by a visit to the Cailler Chocolate Factory in Gruyeres, including a chocolate tasting! The evening accommodation is in Gstaad.

Day 5: Gstaad – Grindelwald-First – Lucerne – Zurich

As we drive through Interlaken and onwards to Grindelwald, where we will take the cable car to the scenic Grindelwald-First recreation area, we will experience the Swiss Alps firsthand today. Included in your kit is lunch at the end. We will then travel to Lucerne for a leisurely walk around the Old City. The evening accommodations are in or near Zurich.

Day 6: Zurich
