Galleria dell’Accademia

The Galleria dell’Accademia was founded in the seventeenth century for students of the nearby Academy of Fine Arts, which was founded in 1784 by Grand Duke Peter Leopold. The Gallery’s collection includes priceless masterpieces and works of art in its various halls spread over two floors, where you can see the most famous statue in Florence, and perhaps the world: Michelangelo’s David.
