Itinerary

DAY 1: London – Paris

Welcome to The Europe Taster of Expat Explore! Leaving London behind, we head for Paris, cross the English Channel and arrive in the afternoon at the ‘City of Lights.’ We will take you on a driving tour of the French capital; get your cameras ready-you’ll see some of the most treasured landmarks in the city, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Arc de Triomphe!

Paris Rail Day Trip from London including Paris Visite Card

After the driving tour we’ll enjoy dinner at an eclectic, bohemian and historic neighborhood restaurant in the Latin Quarter. We will then travel back to the hotel on the world-famous metro system in Paris, ready to continue exploring the city on our free day tomorrow!

DAY 2: Paris-day off

It’s all yours to explore today, as you want. Take a look at our optional excursions – enjoy a cruise up the Seine River, and head up the Montparnasse Tower for spectacular city views, the perfect way to see Paris at its best. Visit L’Opéra Garnier, the Gardens of the Tuileries, Place de la Concorde, Hotel de Ville, the Seine River, l’Ile de la Cite or the Louvre.

Private Full Day Tour to the Heart of Burgundy

Get a glimpse of the most famous avenue, the Champs Elysees, which the famous Arc de Triomphe overlooks. Feel like going shopping? Why not go to La Marais boutiques? Or visit the graves at Père Lachaise Cemetery of Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison?

Those with a macabre taste can even descend to the notorious catacombs! Alternatively, stay on the ground and explore the museums, watch people from a café on the road, or just stroll through the city, following in the footsteps of great painters, musicians and writers.

DAY 3: Burgundy – Swiss Alps

Farewell to Paris! We ‘re sampling a taste of small town France today with a lunch stop in Burgundy. You can visit the beautiful Hospices de Beaune in the town of Beaune, or try the popular wine. We take a long scenic drive across the border into Switzerland after lunch and head to the Swiss Alps for our stay in a typical mountain village in the heart of the Jungfrau region. This is one of the most visited regions in the Alps, and also a World Heritage site, with the largest glacier in Europe. Welcome to the Swiss Alps, the next two days at your home!

DAY 4: Swiss Alps-day off

Swiss Alps Bernina Express Rail Tour from Milan

The Alps’ splendor is yours today-do n’t miss the opportunity to join our optional excursion to Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest train station! The trip up to the top is a real highlight; as the picture-perfect Swiss countryside rolls beneath you, you might be pressed against the windows.

Look out for quaint villages nestled in valleys below snow-capped peaks and tumbling waterfalls in the mountains.

Enjoy the year-round snow and breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers and craggy mountaintops once we’ve reached the top. Once you’ve had an opportunity to explore and capture as many photos as possible, the rest of the afternoon is back down to lower altitudes. Take the opportunity to go to nearby Interlaken to see the region’s lakes, shop for chocolates and cuckoo clocks, or have a fondue!

DAY 5: Swiss Alps – Rhine Valley

Excursion to the Romantic Rhine Valley

Once again this morning we board the coach as we make for the famous Rhine Valley of Germany! Relax on board a Rhine Riverboat as we head to our hotel in the Rhine Valley heartland.

This is Europe’s most concentrated stretch of castles and it also features vineyards, charming medieval towns and lofty cliffs. Learn the story of the castles, many of which have been in ruins since the barons left the river long ago.

Once the cruise is over we will visit a local wine merchant for a wine tasting included-if the harvest is good, you can even try eiswein (ice wine), a very sweet dessert wine produced in very small quantities as it can only be harvested if the temperature drops below freezing.

DAY 6: Rhine Valley – Amsterdam

Our next stop is the Netherlands, and we arrive at the windmill first. After that, enjoy a typical demonstration of cheese making and learn how to make the most funky and quaint option of footwear – the clog – before leaving for Amsterdam.
Layover in Amsterdam Private Tour with a local: Best Highlights of Amsterdam
We will check in at our hotel before joining a dinner cruise on the canal of Amsterdam! Get on board and get those cameras ready; this is the best way to experience Amsterdam, with its architecture of the 17th century, fascinating museums and cafes.

See the city float by as you sail along, and listen from your tour guide for tips and insightful insights into the city. Explore the canals and Dam Square and enjoy your time in this fascinating town.

DAY 7: Bruges – London

Visit Bruges, half day, departure in Bruges

We bid farewell to Amsterdam after breakfast and take our way back to London via the Belgian city of Bruges. Renowned for its beer, waffles, chocolate and moules et frites, this is definitely a great place to be if your appetite is brought.

An extremely popular medieval town with no shortage of cobblestone streets, historic old churches and elevated towers, this is a great town to explore and a good place to pick up any last-minute souvenirs.

It’s back to the coach for the final leg of our trip back to London, once you’ve had a look around.
