Itinerary

Day 1: Perth to Margaret River

You will be picked up bright and early from your Perth accommodation, where your local expert guide can show you a big map so that you can know what’s in store for the next 9 days. Your journey will then begin with the first stop at the famous holiday town of Busselton, about 2 hours south of Perth.

Here, you stroll along the longest jetty in the world, followed by a visit to the first of several beautiful beaches.

At Koomal Dreaming, you’ll enjoy one of the best indigenous experiences in Australia after lunch. Journey into Ngilgi Cave, where a live didgeridoo show, storytelling, and traditional fire-making will mesmerize you.

Then we will arrive at one of the most popular wine-producing regions in the world, the Margaret River. In this perfect postcard area, we will visit cellar doors, a chocolate factory, a cheese factory, and a boutique brewery. Margaret River is also known for its world-class surfing beaches, and at the mouth of Margaret River, we’ll show you the best.

Tonight, before moving into your accommodation, we will enjoy dinner at the famous Margaret River Hotel.

We’ll be traveling 280 km today and staying at the Darby Park Apartments in the heart of the city.

Day 2: Margaret River – Albany

We will leave the bright and early Margaret River to discover the spectacular sights of Western Australia’s South West. The first stop is the old Giants Valley growth forests in Denmark, where we will walk among the ancient tingle forests, and if you feel brave, you can climb the 51-meter Diamond Tree. We’ll drive to the rugged coastlines and rock formations of Albany after lunch and get into town just before dinner.

We will fly 350 km today and the accommodation will be in your self-contained apartment in the beautiful seaside town of Albany.

Day 3: Albany & Esperance

We will take a look around Albany after your continental breakfast, taking in the bay views from the Mt. Clarence lookout. The area will look even more picture-perfect if you are fortunate to fly during the wildflower season. As we head towards Esperance, the landscapes will change, but not before we stop at the purely mind-blowing Twilight Cove.

With its white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters, you’ll be introduced to the spectacular scenery of this area. But this is just a preview of what tomorrow is going to come.

We’re going to be traveling 480 km today and spending two nights at the Esperance Bay of Isles Motel.

Day 4: Cape Le Grand National Park

Words are unable to explain the sheer beauty you will experience today. Cape Le Grand, situated approximately 50 km east of Esperance, is one of the best-known and most scenic national parks in Western Australia.

It features blindingly white sandy beaches, an ocean colored between your toes with conceivable shades of blue, and sand so fine it squeaks. Wildlife, like the famous beach with sunbathing kangaroos that are normally up for a photo opportunity, is in abundance.

Swimming, bushwalking, and reconnecting with nature today and tonight, we’re going to stay back in Esperance, just 100 km away.

Day 5: Esperance & The Nullarbor

As we cross from Western Australia to South Australia, today will begin before the birds chirp. We put our clocks 1.5 hours ahead of us. As we embark on Australia’s greatest road trip, crossing the Nullarbor Plain, we still have a lot of ground to traverse.

As you enjoy the changing landscape and as we head towards the South Australian border, our guide will entertain you. We’ll go off-road, 4WD to Esperance on the Balladonia Route. This is not the typical back-road run-of-the-mill.

The old Deralinya Homestead is one highlight that will be discussed. This property was developed as a sheep station in the 1890s and abandoned in 1926. This is an excellent place to learn how resilient our founders were when they opened up Australia as an outback.

Even by Australian standards, we are traveling a fairly long distance today —920 km. Tonight, we have a rare experience of staying in Border Village‘s famous Outback Roadhouse Motel, only a few miles from South Australia.

Day 6: The Great Australian Bight

Today we begin our journey to the iconic Koonalda Homestead and Eucla Telegraph Station, along the Nullarbor. You will also have the chance to play golf on the world’s longest golf course — the Nullarbor Links.

In the Southern Hemisphere, the Great Australian Bight is the longest continuous cliff coastline. The scenery of the majestic Head of Bight, Australia‘s ultimate coastal lookout, will blow you away.

You’ll be able to see hundreds of southern right whales and their young in the months of July to September, taking refuge in the Great Australian Bight Marine Park. During these months, you will also be given the option of taking a scenic flight over the Head of Bight and Nullarbor.

Then we go to Streaky Bay where we spend time at Perlubie Beach, our signature stop. When we visit this pristine landscape, we taste fresh oysters and local wines before visiting the Ceduna Aboriginal Culture Center for a great indigenous cultural experience.

We’re traveling 480 km today and staying overnight in Ceduna at 5 Star Villa’s Shelly Beach Caravan Park.

Day 7: Baird Bay & Coodlie Park

We’ll make our way to Baird Bay this morning, where you’ll have the Optional Experience and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to swim in the calm waters of the Eyre Peninsula with Australian sea lions and dolphins on a 3-hour cruise. All around you, the puppy dogs of the sea will splash, twist, and twirl and the magical dolphins will not disappoint either.

In the afternoon, when we do an inspiring coastal walk across Venus Bay and visit the strange and wonderful rock formations of Murphy’s Haystacks, you can see dolphins surfing the waves. Then you’re going to join us in our Coodlie Park Wilderness Retreat home, where we’re going to prepare a campfire feast.

We’ll head out on a Nocturnal Nature & Stargazing Tour after dinner, if you’re up for it, giving you an opportunity to see the stunning southern skies and get up close and personal with native wildlife.

If you are traveling between June and August, during those months in which we provide you with an alternate itinerary, sea lions are not sighted. Choose from 4WD’ing, fishing on the beach, bushwalking, visiting national parks, or just relaxing.

We’re only going to drive 170 km today, and tonight, you’re going to sleep in a completely self-contained cottage on our Coodlie Park house.

Day 8: Coffin Bay – Port Lincoln

We will fly to the picture-perfect seaside town of Coffin Bay after a home-cooked breakfast and put the waders on to learn about the Oyster Industry on the Eyre Peninsula while feasting on fresh peaceful oysters you have picked straight out of the ocean.

We’ll explore the region’s pristine national parks and some other spectacular coastal sights, such as Locks Well and Talia Caves, as we head to the west coast towards Port Lincoln.

We will board the Tesla Marina Electric Boat cruise when we arrive in Port Lincoln. This is followed by a tantalizing dinner at an award-winning seafood restaurant for the local seafood harvest.

We are traveling 230 km today and have our last night of the tour at the award-winning Port Lincoln Hotel.

Day 9: Port Lincoln & Adelaide

You have two very different perspectives to choose from here today!

Option one is to explore the national parks around Port Lincoln going to Whalers Way, the oldest rocks in South Australia with spectacular views of the rough and raw coastline, and also at Mikkira Station, home of the Eyre Peninsula koalas, a common wildlife encounter of a cute and cuddly sort.

If you are searching for some excitement on your visit to the Eyre Peninsula, then the once-in-a-lifetime experience of cage diving with great white sharks will end your journey. The only location in Australia where you can have an intense adrenalin experience is this Optional Experience in Port Lincoln.

We will drop you off after dinner at Port Lincoln Airport for your 45-minute flight to Adelaide, as your journey comes to an end. Your all-inclusive tour also involves a transfer to your pre-booked accommodation from Adelaide airport, where you can spend time reminiscent of your Australian trip.
