Penguin Parade Day Tour

This afternoon you can fly south-east to Westernport Bay. The road takes you through many of Melbourne‘s affluent suburbs, where you can see tree-lined streets and lovely houses, many constructed at the end of the 1800s. As the South Gippsland Highway comes near the countryside, smaller townships and agricultural properties become more rural.

The first stop is Maru Koala and Animal Park for personal encounters with koalas, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils and much more! Maru Koala and Animal Park

Phillip Island The only bridge linking Phillip Island to the mainland will be demolished. In addition, Philip Island houses the popular Penguin Parade, a beautiful coastline with great surfing conditions and a variety of wildlife, including the largest fur seal colony in Australia. This is also the venue for our Grand Prix Motorcycle course, so it is no wonder that this island paradise draws up to 31⁄2 million tourists per year.

Nobbies Rock Formations You can see “Nobbies” so named for the unusual rock formations before you hit the location of the Penguin Parade. Located at the western tip of the island, this area is very protected because of its population of penguins and graceful sea birds.

So you think the koalas are cute – just wait until you see the little penguins. After you visit the information center and souvenir store, you can experience some Penguin magic in Summerland Beach.

Just as the sun sets, the wild Little Penguins emerge from the sea and waddle through the sand to their midfield after a long day of fishing.

Such Little Penguins are the smallest species of Penguin and Phillip Island is home to the world’s largest colony. It’s easy to understand why this wonderful show is one of the most famous wildlife attractions in Australia. All the income raised by the parade is invested in environmental and educational programs in order to preserve these Little Penguins.
