Itinerary
Day 1: Amsterdam – Brussels – Paris
You will head south across the frontier to Brussels, the Belgian capital and the political center of the European Union, after leaving Amsterdam in the morning.
On the way, the tour stops to see the distinctive Atomium monument, a cell-shaped structure of spheres and tubes of stainless steel built for the World Fair in 1958. We will take an orientation trip in the middle of Brussels itself.
The Atomium, which was not intended to survive Expo 58, for which it was the flagship construction, was renovated as a major national event between 2004 and 2006, and is now the most popular tourist attraction in the capital of Europe, an art center, and an international symbol of Brussels and Belgium, with over 600,000 visitors per year.
The Atomium is a cultural site in addition to its historical significance. Over half of the route is devoted to exhibitions on Belgian and digital arts themes.
Day 2: Paris – Versailles – Paris
Over the next two days, Paris is your oyster as you enjoy guided tours around one of the most famous towns in the world. We will drive to the Place de la Concorde along the famous Champs Elysees, which played a key role in the French Revolution. You will also see the iconic Arc de Triomphe, the imposing monument that sits near the west end of the avenue and remembers the downfall of the revolution and the wars of Napoleon.
As you head to Les Invalides, where Napoleon’s tomb is situated, you will take another important historic building next to you, followed by a stop at the most iconic of all icons: the Eiffel Tower. You can either spend time exploring the neighborhood and having dinner, or you can scale the Eiffel Tower. It’s your decision.
Finally, you will travel by coach to the splendid Palace of Versailles through the Parisian suburbs, the vast regal château that was the royal family’s residence until the beginning of the revolution in 1789.
One of our optional cabaret shows in Paris can be enjoyed in the evening (own cost).
Day 3: Paris
Your Parisian experience’s second day starts with a visit to the Louvre, one of the biggest art museums in the world. Here you will look at some of the most renowned masterpieces of history, including the Venus de Milo, Samothrace’s Winged Victory (also called Samothrace’s Nike), and the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci.
Choose a guided gallery tour that will enhance your experience and enable you to browse in just a few hours through hundreds of works. You can then take a leisurely cruise along the Seine River, an excellent choice for sightseeing that provides beautiful views of iconic Parisian monuments, including Notre-Dame Cathedral and Alexandre III Bridge.
After an exciting morning wandering the corridors of the gallery, replenish your energy levels with dinner in the museum before going to the region surrounding the Palais Garnier, the Opera House in Paris. You can then have a French 4 course Dinner and Show experience or spend time shopping at Galleries Lafayette’s iconic department shops.
It will be time for some tour participants to say farewell to new colleagues, while others will choose to remain another night in this French town of delights before picking up the next day’s other Line tour.
