Itinerary
Day 1: Melbourne – Great Ocean Road – Halls Gap
As we leave Melbourne at around 7:00am and pass through the surfing town of Anglesea, we will begin our Great Ocean Road adventure, stopping for morning tea along the way. As we head down the coastline we’ll pass gorgeous ocean scenery.
We will make a quick stop for pictures at the Historic Memorial Arch and Kennett River to spot koalas and see the colorful local birds, including kookaburras, parrots, and lorikeets. Then we will arrive for lunch at Apollo Harbor.
We will continue our journey through the Great Otway Rainforest and head to the Twelve Apostles, one of the most popular landmarks on our path, and arrive at Loch Ard Gorge, where you will learn more about the history of this popular shipwreck spot before crossing Port Campbell township and making our way to the Grampians.
We’ll spend the night in the National Park of the Grampians.
Day 2: Grampians National Park – Adelaide
We will be exploring Grampians National Park today, one of the most popular holiday destinations in Victoria and a region rich in Aboriginal culture set in a stunning and rugged ancient landscape. We’ll embark on a walk through the national park after breakfast and get stunning views of Boroka and Reed’s Lookout.
Next up, for breathtaking views of this gorgeous natural wonder, we’ll visit Mackenzie Falls (or Silverband Falls). We’ll visit the Jaws of Death lookout, or Aboriginal Cave Paintings, if there is enough time.
We will make our way to Adelaide after spending a wonderful day in the National Park.
