Location: Massachusetts (MA)

The state of Massachusetts has played host to a great deal of important historical activities. The first post office in the United States was established in Boston in 1639. Salem, Massachusetts had witch hunts in 1692 and 1693 as a result of false rumours that spread across the town. In addition, in 1876, Alexander Graham Bell gave the first public demonstration of the telephone.

However, the role that the people of Massachusetts performed in the American Revolution may be the state’s most important contribution to history.
