Monument Valley is a Navajo Nation tribal park on the Colorado Plateau that straddles the boundary of northeastern Arizona and southeastern Utah in United States. It protects the Navajo way of life as well as some of the Southwest’s most striking and iconic sandstone buttes, mesas, and spires.
The location is wholly within the Navajo Indian Reservation, close to the little Indian town of Goulding, which began as a trading post in 1923 and now offers a full range of visitor amenities. There is a hotel in the park named The View, and there is also housing available near the park’s entrance at Goulding’s Lodge and Trading Post.
Monument Valley is located in the state of Utah. The Navajo Nation, one of the major American Indian tribes, is home to Navajo Tribal Park. The vivid red tones of this sandy preserve drench the region between Arizona and Utah, adding to its reputation as having some of the most dramatic and fascinating light.
