Grand Canyon Skywalk

The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped cantilever bridge with a glass walkway at Eagle Point in Arizona in the vicinity of the Colorado River on the southern rim of a side canyon in the Grand Canyon West area of the main canyon. The U.S. Geological Survey’s topographic maps show the elevation at the Skywalk’s location as 4,770 feet (1,450 meters) and the elevation of the Colorado River in the base of the canyon as 1,160 feet (350 meters), and they show that the exact height of the precisely vertical drop directly under the skywalk is between 500 feet (150 meters) and 800 feet (250 meters) (240 m). As of 2015, the attraction has over one million visitors.

The Grand Canyon Skywalk was unveiled on March 20, 2007, and opened to the general public on March 28, 2007. To enter the canyon, you will either drive for 120 miles (190 km) from Las Vegas or use the Grand Canyon West Airport terminal. The Skywalk is located on the east side of Meadview and the north side of Peach Springs, and Kingman is the closest town of some size.
