The Kangaroo Island lies off South Australia’s mainland, just southwest of Adelaide. More than one third of the island is protected nature reserve, and is home to native wildlife such as sea lions, koalas and numerous species of birds. In the west, Flinders Chase National Park, like the sculpted Remarkable Rocks and the stalactite-covered Admirals Arch, is famous for penguin colonies and striking coastal rock formations.
