Join this 3-Day Yosemite Escape Camping Tour to visit the most beautiful national parks in America.
Your trip to Yosemite begins with a departure out of San Francisco on the morning of Day 1 of your trip. The natural beauty of one of America’s most famous national parks, Yosemite, with its imposing Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, glacial lakes, and towering sequoia trees, will be yours for three days.
You can go hiking, swimming, biking, and even rafting, so pack your activewear. Some of the park’s lesser-known trails and sights will be revealed to you by your guide, and you’ll also have some free time to explore the park at your own pace (additional costs may apply).
Itinerary
Day 1: San Francisco to Yosemite
San Francisco Bay
Leave San Francisco behind and cross the Bay Bridge, offering amazing views of Alcatraz Island and Angel Island. Cruise through Oakland, the East Bay, and on to Central Valley to stop for groceries (own expense). Travel through Gold Country and the Sierra Nevada Foothills.
Yosemite National Park
After approximately 3-4 hours you’ll arrive at the entrance of Yosemite National Park. Enjoy the scenic mountain views as your guide explains the history and geology of this special place.
Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias
Head down a beautiful scenic path to the enchanted Tuolumne Grove consisting of dozens of Giant Sequoia trees. But don’t be fooled by this moderate downhill stroll. Make sure you bring some water to sip as you enjoy your time among the giants as you have a bit of climb ahead of you to get back to the mini-coach. You’ll also have time to enjoy your lunch here among the towering trees.
Yosemite Valley
Next, we’ll leave the gentle giants of the Sequoia Grove in the mini-coach to get a narrated tour through Yosemite’s glaciated valley. We’ll make a few stops along the way, to snap some pictures of some of the famous waterfalls and rock formations while your guide gives you some of the histories that make this park so special.
Yosemite Village
Now it’s time to spend a couple of hours exploring on your own! We’ll make a stop near the base of Yosemite Falls. You’ll have a number of options of where to go, including a leisurely walk through the Ansel Adams Gallery, the historic Ahwahnee lodge, or get your pulse up with a hike or bike ride along the river.

You can explore Yosemite Falls on your own during your free time in Yosemite Village.
Ansel Adams Gallery
During your free time in Yosemite Village, you can choose to visit the famous photographer’s gallery to view a collection of Ansel Adams’ original photographs.
El Portal
Once at camp, your guide will hand out the camping gear and show you the local amenities. You’ll enjoy a freshly prepared dinner at camp, as well as s’mores as your group shares drinks and stories around the campfire, but don’t forget to get some sleep tonight for a full day of exploring the park tomorrow.
Day 2: Yosemite High Country
Yosemite National Park
Are you ready for pristine lakes that shimmer in the sun? Fresh mountain air, anyone? A full day exploring Yosemite’s enchanting lakes, hiking to mountain summits that overlook lush greenery, and passing through tranquil meadows is expected. Your guide will tailor the hikes to meet the specific needs of your group in order to ensure that you get the most out of your time in the park.
Day 3: Yosemite to San Francisco
Yosemite Valley
Our final morning in Yosemite Valley will begin with a quick breakfast, a brown bag lunch, and a final check of our camping gear. On your way to the vista, did you skip a hike? Is there a particular swimming spot that you’ve had your eye on? Is it time for a new self-guided adventure for you?
The third day of your Yosemite Valley vacation is a great time to pick your own adventure. It’s possible to explore the valley by foot or bicycle. There’s also an Ansel Adams Gallery and a museum dedicated to his work. The Merced River and its shady banks are also great places to unwind in the shade.
El Capitan Meadow
Regroup for one final group activity, a visit to the El Capitan Meadow to watch the daredevil rock climbers conquering the largest granite monolith in North America.
San Francisco
After a full day of exploring, we’ll make our way back to the San Francisco Hilton, arriving in the city around 8:30 pm – 9 pm.
