Itinerary
Day 1: Auckland – Waitomo Caves – Rotorua
Waitomo Glowworm Caves
Traveling from Auckland to Rotorua by road, passing through the Waitomo Glowworm Tunnels, which includes a guided tour of the caves and a boat ride through the glowworm grotto. The group then heads to Rotorua, where it arrives in the late afternoon. When you arrive, you will be taken to your nighttime lodging.
Day 2: Rotorua: Morning Sightseeing, Te Puia, Agrodome & Rainbow Springs
Te Puia
After a morning sightseeing tour of Rotorua, travel to Te Puia and take a tour of the nearby Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley, where mud pools bubble and boil and geysers shoot steam high into the air, to learn about Rotorua’s famous Maori culture and geothermal activity.
Agrodome
Then go to the Agrodome to experience Rotorua’s agricultural business in action: a real organic farm where you can learn all about farming in New Zealand. Watch a sheep shearing demonstration and sheepdog trials, where farm dogs demonstrate their incredible abilities.
Rainbow Springs Nature Park
At Rainbow Springs Nature Park, you can get up close to native flora and fauna, including the iconic kiwi – a flightless native bird – and learn about New Zealand wildlife and natural landscapes. Discover New Zealand birds, fish, and lizards (including the ancient tuatara) as well as exotic wildlife from around the world as you walk through natural woodland.
Day 3: Rotorua – Wellington
Lake Taupo
After being picked up from your accommodation, travel by road from Rotorua to Wellington, passing through Lake Taupo, the Central Plateau (home to several active volcanoes), Palmerston North, and the Kapiti Coast, arriving in Wellington in the late afternoon, where you will be transferred to your central city accommodation and your tour will come to an end.
