Itinerary

St. Stephen’s Cathedral

As a Romanesque and Gothic church, St Stephen’s Cathedral is a significant landmark of Vienna. Since the 14th century, the cathedral has been a witness to Vienna’s history. The stunning exterior, which features a multi-colored tile roof and limestone, will take your breath away. Its indoor visit will be worthwhile because you will be able to see its Gothic-style stone pulpit, catacombs, crypts, and tombs.

Kohlmarkt und Graben

The Kohlmarkt, formerly known as the Coal Market, is a historic shopping street in Vienna. You’ll pass historic buildings and trendy shops built by well-known architects all along the street. The Hofburg and one of Vienna’s oldest fountains are located at the entrance to Kohlmarkt.

The Hofburg

Next on our Vienna walking tour is the imperial palace, The Hofburg, which has been the residence of the Habsburg dynasty from generation to generation, would be a sight to behold. It is now the home of Austria’s President, but it has been the seat of power since the 13th century. The imperial chapel, the imperial library, and the enormous Spanish Riding School are among the magnificent residences.

Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum

The Museum of Art History, as it is also known, is Austria’s largest art museum. The building, like its neighbor the Natural History Museum, was completed in 1891. If the indoor art collection is impressive, you’ll appreciate the outdoor architecture. The dome is 60 meters high and the façade is made of sandstone.

Burggarten

If Vienna’s buildings weren’t already stunning, the city’s green spaces add a pleasant touch. One of the best places to relax on the lawn and enjoy a sunny day is Burggarten. It’s a lovely promenade away from the crowds. You will have the opportunity to view outstanding works of art such as the famous Mozart monument and the Hercule and the Nemean lion statue fountain.

The Butterfly House

The Butterfly House is a protected area full of wonders that is part of Burrgarten. It is home to hundreds of free-flying tropical butterflies, including the colorful Atlas butterfly, and is housed in an art nouveau structure. This stroll will take you to a beautiful waterfall, a small stream, and some charming bridges. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn more about those lovely beetles.

Vienna State Opera

The Vienna Opera House is where music reaches its pinnacle. It was the birthplace of two well-known composers: Mozart and Richard Strauss. It comes as no surprise, then, that it has a stellar international reputation. Behind its attractive façade, the Vienna Opera House hides a great architecture and a long-standing operatic tradition. Many historical figures, such as Luciano Pavarotti, Maria Callas, and Enrico Caruso, have performed here.
