Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte Evening Tour With Dinner
Today at Vaux-le-Vicomte we’re heading south of Paris for an outstanding evening. This 17th century masterpiece inspired the creation of Versailles by Louis XIV, and we welcome you to explore this spectacular castle.
The evening begins with a visit to the carriage museum that outlines the history of Roman chariot carriages in the early 20th century.
Next, have lunch at the restaurant L’Ecureuil, situated in one of the outbuildings’ wings. Visit the castle and gardens at sunset, illuminated by some 2,000 candles. Classical music performs throughout the park, bringing a unique touch with magnificent fireworks to an unforgettable time.
The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, located southeast of Paris in the town of Maincy, typifies the opulent 17th-century style of King Louis XIV and served as an inspiration for the construction of the Palace of Versailles, which was completed in 1789.
Your evening tour of this Baroque masterpiece begins with a limousine pick-up from your Paris hotel and a luxurious drive to the Château de la Tour de France. Take the wheel of a golf cart when you arrive to explore the sprawling geometric gardens, if you so desire. Then, take an audio-guided tour of the magnificent interior, which will take about an hour.
Visit authentic period décor in the form of sparkling chandeliers, intricate tapestries, murals, and lavish furnishings as you walk through the galleries, apartments, and hallways of the museum. Discover the fascinating history of the château and its many inhabitants throughout its long history as you stroll through it with a guide.
Taking your seat at a reserved table outside, you will be surrounded by more than 2,000 candles that will illuminate the gardens and estate in a magical, twinkling glow as the sun begins to sink lower in the sky. (If it is particularly cold, dinner will be served inside a marquee.)
A gourmet 3-course meal of seasonal dishes, served with wine and Champagne, will be served to you this evening. Your limo is waiting to transport you back to Paris, where your tour will come to an end with a drop-off at your hotel.
