Boyne Valley, Trim Castle, and Hill of Tara Small Group Tour from Dublin
You’ll travel from Dublin deep into the gorgeous, green landscape of County Meath. It’s said that the mythical High Kings of Ireland once lived here.
After a short journey, you arrive at Trim Castle. You can let your imagination run wild at this hugely impressive Norman castle. There are walls to climb, a large castle keep to explore, and plenty of reconstructions and curios to discover.
You then take the short journey to the 12th century Bective Abbey. You have time here to take a few photos and enjoy the simple architecture of this ancient monument.
Your next stop is the Hill of Tara, the legendary center of Celtic Ireland. It’s an incredible destination if you love faeries and folklore. You can pose beside the stone of destiny, wander into Neolithic abodes, and survey the lands like an ancient king. Or you can take your time to eat a well-deserved lunch.
Now you’ve seen one of the most important locations of Celtic Ireland, it’s time to see the finest relic. In Monasterboice, you have time to appreciate the Celtic High Cross of Muiredach. This masterpiece depicts Biblical tales and combines Celtic art with Christian symbolism.
After this, we take you into the town of Drogheda. There’s time here to learn about the many invaders this town has fought and get a snack and a beverage.
