Barossa & Hahndorf Highlights One-Day Tour
Ultimate Adelaide, Barossa & Hahndorf Tour
Travel to the world-renowned Barossa wine region from the city of Adelaide northwards. Enjoy the change of scenery as you make your way into the luxury wine district of South Australia’s vineyards.
Your first stop is at the multi-award-winning Jacobs Creek Visitor Center, where you will have the chance to taste their famous wines in a structured tasting, take a tour of the surrounding vines and cellar door, then enjoy morning tea overlooking the vineyards.
Travel to Mengler Hill Lookout to get sweeping views over the valley and then to Saltram Wine Estate at Angaston, leaving Jacob’s Creek Visitor Center. You can read about the 150-year past of Saltram here and taste some of the wide range of quality wines from the stunning cellar door.
Journey to the South Australian Company Store and Kitchen for a tasty lunch after a memorable cellar door encounter. The Kitchen Company draws on ingredients and practices that are distinct from the regional producers of Barossa. Along with wine tastings from two boutique Barossa wineries, you can enjoy a delicious 2-course lunch (including a sampling plate).
Stop off at the Herbig Family Tree at Springton, leaving Barossa. For Friedrich & Caroline Herbig and two of their 16 children, this hollow tree trunk provided a ‘home’ until 1860. Travel to the picturesque Adelaide Hills and you will have free time to explore Hahndorf’s main street with many shops and galleries full of local arts, crafts, goods and pubs where you can try some German beers upon arrival in Hahndorf (Adelaide’s oldest German settlement).
