Itinerary
Day 1 – Prague
Welcome to Prague!
We will be waiting in the arrivals hall at Vaclav Havel Airport to take you to your hotel, where our local guide will provide you with all the necessary information you’ll need for a safe and thoroughly enjoyable trip.
Later in the afternoon, we’ll drive you to vibrant and fascinating Old Town Square – a marvelous place to acquaint oneself with Prague.
Day 2 – Prague
Today we’ll introduce you to the capital of the Czech Republic and the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our local expert will lead you on an informative city tour, the highlight of which is a visit to Prague Castle, admission included. Afterward, we’ll explore another side of the city on a river cruise.
In the afternoon you’ll have free time to explore Prague on your own.
Day 3 – Prague – Lauf – Wurzburg – Frankfurt
Today we’ll cross the border into Germany and explore the stunning region of Bavaria where we’ll visit Lauf an der Pegnitz, a picturesque village characterized by its lively Market Square and towering Castle.
From here we’ll continue to Wurzburg, where you’ll have ample time for lunch (own expense) and a stroll through this Bavarian city. A former bishopric center, Wurzburg is now a bustling college town. Our journey takes us next to Frankfurt, where you’ll be given ample time to explore the city center and avail yourself of the fine ethnic cuisines (own expenses).
Day 4 – Frankfurt – Rhine Valley – Cologne – Amsterdam
Venturing out of Frankfurt in the morning, we’ll take a cruise on the Rhine River between the villages of Rudesheim and Sankt Goarhausen: undoubtedly the most picturesque section of the Rhine River Valley.
Next, our journey takes us to Cologne, home to an impressive and immense Gothic cathedral.
From here we’ll leave Germany behind us and travel to Holland, arriving in Amsterdam in the late afternoon. At the end of the day, you will be taken to Rembrandtplein, one of the busiest squares in the city with plenty of restaurants to choose from (own expense).
Day 5 – Amsterdam – Volendam – Zaanse Schans – Amsterdam
First up on our Holland itinerary is Volendam, a picturesque fishing village, then make our way to Zaanse Schans to photograph its iconic windmills. We’ll visit a cheese farm, where you will be given samples of cheese and wine.
In the afternoon we’ll be back in Amsterdam where we’ll take a panoramic tour to see its narrow canals, as well as Dam Square. We’ll also visit a diamond workshop to see how these precious gems are cut. Later you’ll be transferred to the Red Light District where you can explore on your own and enjoy dinner (own expense).
Day 6 – Amsterdam – Brussels – Bruges – Paris
In the morning it’s goodbye Holland and hello Belgium, where we’ll head to the capital of Brussels. Here we’ll enjoy free time in Grand Place, as well as a special stop to photograph the Atomium.
Later we’ll travel to Bruges, the Venice of the North. After free time for lunch (own expense), we’ll make our way to France, ultimately arriving in Paris.
Day 7 – Paris
Today we’ll take a scenic guided tour to discover the history, main boulevards, and breathtaking attractions of Paris, ending our tour at the Eiffel Tower, where you will have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of this remarkable monument.
We’ll end the day with a boat cruise along the River Seine. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your leisure. At sunset enjoy dinner in the Latin Quarter, a picturesque area of the historic center where a wide variety of international cuisine awaits (own expense).
Day 8 – Paris
After breakfast, we’ll say farewell and end our journey. This ends our 8-Day Central and Western Europe Holiday: Prague to Paris.
