A full-day journey from Paris to the town of Reims and its region, recognized worldwide for producing a distinctive and prestigious product that requires no introduction: champagne. As part of this tour, your guide will show you the majestic Reims Cathedral of the 13th century, where the Kings of France’s coronations once took place.

You will also visit Mumm and Mercier, two renowned Champagne homes, where you can taste champagne and enjoy the scenic vineyards of the region.

Start at 8:00 a.m. from our organization in central Paris for a memorable day in the Champagne region east of Paris (arrival planned around 10:30 a.m.).

Start your trip with an audio guide tour of the renowned Mumm Champagne house cellars where you’ll learn about their skills and the secrets behind the development of their many champagnes. You’ll get a sample of Red Ribbon at the end of your new, one of the world’s most famous champagnes.

With a guided tour of the imposing cathedral of Reims, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, your trip remains. Reims Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece and site of the Kings of France’s coronations, is renowned for its many sculptures and exceptional stained glass windows of the 13th century.

For instance, spend your free time exploring the town center of Reims and enjoy dinner in one of the many restaurants on Erlon Square. Sample the region’s many specialities, such as white pudding, a Rethel pie type ; cheeses from Chaource and Langres ; and purple biscuits from Reims.

The afternoon provides an chance to explore the surrounding landscape and its beautiful villages, forests and renowned vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see. We will visit our second day’s Champagne house, Mercier, established in 1858 upon arrival in Epernay.

You will travel to a depth of 100 feet by automated train to visit the enormous cellars before completing your trip with a degustation of champagne.

It is planned to depart from Epernay at 4:00pm, returning to Paris at around 6:30pm.
