Climb into the climate-controlled car for the drive to the Hoover Dam tour after being picked up from chosen Las Vegas hotels. Along the trip, get to know your guide and small group while learning about the history of Hoover Dam from your guide’s remarks.
Begin your visit with the Powerplant Tour as you arrive. To observe the Nevada Powerwing, descend 524 feet (160 meters) down the Black Canyon’s walls. Stroll through the generators and go inside one of the diversion tunnels to observe the massive pipe.
Take the elevator back up to the Visitor Center after exploring the depths of the earth. Exhibits and displays depicting the dam’s construction and everyday operations provide a complete picture of the dam’s history. The Walk on the Top segment of the tour is the excursion’s highlight: a trek over the dam’s top. This is one of the few excursions from Las Vegas that has this option.
Before boarding your bus to return to Las Vegas, stop by the bypass bridge to get a bird’s-eye view of the dam. Stop for lunch on the way home to refuel after a day of learning, seeing, and doing. Your tour closes with a drop-off at your chosen Las Vegas hotel.

Las Vegas
We are pleased to provide a designated bus driver (for safety) as well as a step-on tour guide (for entertainment and information). Our tour guides are not our drivers. We don’t transport you to a central place to reload onto a new bus; instead, we pick you up from various Las Vegas hotels to begin your trip.
You will board the bus in which you were picked up. We can save time and get back early by limiting pick-ups and traveling on one bus. Every hotel’s check-in and check-out process can take many hours. We are usually the first bus company to Hoover Dam because we limit pick-ups to seven.
Your guide entertains you and answers questions about the Hoover Dam, its history, and/or the Las Vegas area as you travel.

Boulder City
Travel through historic Boulder City, viewing the quaint Dingbat houses which were built for the Dam Workers, and the historic Hoover Dam Hotel. We also make a stop here so you can visit the Hoover Dam Museum.
Hoover Dam Bypass
Our buses have an added treat, a photo stop at the new Hoover Dam bypass bridge for the single best view available of Hoover Dam. Get those cameras ready for the best selfie ever!
Hoover Dam
You’ll start with a generator tour when you arrive. View the Nevada power plant, generators, and a 30-foot-diameter (9-meter) pipe inside one of the four gigantic diversion tunnels by climbing 524 feet (160 meters) into the Black Canyon cliffs. (Please note that owing to Department or Reclamation closures, this portion of the tour is not guaranteed.)

Next, visit the Hoover Dam Visitor Center, where you can learn about the dam’s history and see a variety of displays that explain how it was built, how it works, and who benefits from the water and power it produces.
The Tour on the Top Tour is an exclusive 45-minute walk over the top of the dam that is fully guided. Electricity, outlet works, intake towers, concrete, diversion tunnels, water/drought, deaths, wages, earthquakes, artwork, WWII, and more will all be discussed by your skilled guide.

Relax and enjoy pleasant conversation with fellow travelers over a hot made-to-order sit-down lunch on the way back to Las Vegas. As you drive back to town, you might hear Vegas trivia about topics such as the mafia, casino moguls, activities, restaurant deals, and more before being dropped off.
