Ha Giang province is home to the magnificent pass. It’s on the asphalted yet rough National Road No. 4C, also known as Hanh Phuc Road (The Happiness Road). The ascent is difficult and perilous. It is the most challenging pass to construct in Vietnam, but it is also the most exciting and scenic pass to visit. The road was constructed in the 1960s of the twentieth century by a large number of employees who toiled for 11 years to complete the project.

It is referred to as the “King of Vietnamese Mountain Passes.” The route that runs up the slope has lovely, breathtaking scenery and is an excellent place to ride a motorcycle. Many people traveled to see the spectacular splendor of the 20-kilometer climb. The road to the summit, dubbed “Vietnam’s Great Wall,” seems like something out of a fairytale. The best time to travel is during daylight hours. It is not advisable to drive at night. There is a stone stele at the summit of the pass that records the building markers.
