Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival, Airport pick-up

Ho Chi Minh City

Upon your arrival at Ho Chi Minh City Airport, your local guide and driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city.

Day 2: Cho Lon, FITO Museum, Ben Thanh Market, War Remnants Museum, Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral

Chinatown (Cho Lon) – District 5

The Chinatown Cho Lon will be your first destination on your guided Ho Chi Minh City tour, where you will take a leisurely stroll to see the colorful stores and enjoy the bustling lifestyle of the locals.

The FITO Museum

Following that, you’ll go to the Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine (FITO), where you’ll view a variety of traditional Vietnamese medicine and medical tools.

Ben Thanh Market

Then you’ll be taken to Ben Thanh Market, where you’ll find a wide range of things, including food and everyday items.

War Remnants Museum

After lunch and a break, you’ll visit the War Remnants Museum, where you’ll see a variety of weaponry and vehicles left over from the war. It’s a fascinating location to see for history buffs.

Notre Dame Cathedral in Saigon

After lunch, you’ll learn about Vietnam’s history by touring the Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the ancient Post Office. You will be taken back to your hotel after the visits.

Day 3: Drive to Ben Tre, Mekong Delta Cruise& Drive Back to Ho Chi Minh City

Mekong Delta

Next, in our 9-Day Vietnam Private Tour, a 2-hour journey will take you to Ben Tre in the morning, where you will take a boat tour down the Ham Luong River to discover the Mekong Delta’s unique lifestyle.

The boat will dock at a peaceful town where you may take a short stroll to see a local family and learn how they manufacture sedge mats while enjoying tea and tropical fruits, or ride a “Xe Loi,” a type of motorized rickshaw, or hop on your bicycle and pedal through the villages.

At a riverfront restaurant, a delectable lunch is provided. After lunch, you’ll board a sampan for a leisurely cruise through small canals. The boat will be waiting for you at a nearby wharf to transport you back to Ben Tre, from where your car will transport you to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4: Fly to Da Nang, Drive to Hoi An, Visit Ancient Town, Chua Ong Pagoda, Tam Ky Ancestral House, & Cruise on Bon River

Hoi An

You will be taken to the airport in Ho Chi Minh City for your flight to Da Nang in the morning. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Hoi An, where you will check into your hotel.

The Historic Town of Hoi An

Following a short break, we continue our 9-Day Vietnam Private Tour and you’ll have a half-day walking tour of this lovely city. The first destination is Hoi An Historic Town, a well-known UNESCO World Heritage site where the bright lanterns and ancient structures will leave you speechless.

Stops include Chua Ong Pagoda, the Chinese Assembly Hall, the 200-year-old Tam Ky ancestral mansion, and the famed Japanese Bridge. Finally, you’ll take a boat ride along the river for a pleasant experience.

Day 5: Drive to Hue, Hai Van pass, Imperial City, Hue Royal Palace, Mausoleum of Tu Duc

Hai Van Pass

A private van will transport you to Hue after breakfast. The journey will take you through the scenic Hai Van Pass. Before going on to Hue, you will stop for a drink at the gorgeous Lang Co Beach. You will check into your hotel when you arrive.

Hue Imperial City (The Citadel)

You will take a guided walking tour of this charming city in the afternoon. The Imperial City, also known as the Forbidden City of Hue, was the capital city of the last dynasty and is the first stop.

Hue Royal Palace

After exploring the citadel, you’ll continue on to the royal palace, where the subtle combination of red, gold, and green architecture, as well as the elegant gardens, will lead you to learn about the historic capital’s past greatness.

Tomb of Tu Duc

The Tomb of Tu Duc is the final stop on your walking tour today, where you can admire the peaceful interplay between humans and nature from the inside buildings. You will be taken back to your hotel after the visits.

Day 6: Thien Mu Pagoda by Boat, Dong Ba Market, Ornate Minh Mang’s tomb, & Fly to Hanoi

Hue

Visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the bustling Dong Ba Market, and the grandiose Minh Mang’s tomb on a private boat tour down the river.

Hanoi

Thien Mu Pagoda

In the morning, you’ll board a private dragon boat to travel down the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda to learn more about Thien Mu, the local people’s heavenly mother.

Dong Ba Market

After that, you’ll go to Hue’s Dong Ba Market, which is the city’s main traditional trading market. You will have the opportunity to learn more about local trading and how the locals conduct business.

Minh Mang’s Tomb

Then you’ll be taken to Minh Mang’s Tomb, which was built in the nineteenth century. The mausoleum complex has a subtle combination of majesty and beauty. The lovely garden, along with the historic houses, is a lovely spot for a leisurely stroll in the tranquil ambiance.

Noi Bai International Airport

You will be driven to the airport for your journey to Hanoi after the tours. Your Hanoi guide will meet you at the airport and transport you to your accommodation.

Day 7: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple, Museum of Ethnology

Ba Dinh Square

Your guided Hanoi trip will begin in the morning with a visit to Ba Dinh Square, the city’s heart. The area can hold up to two hundred thousand people and is the primary location for festivities.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

The Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and stilt dwellings, is accessible from the square. Later, your guide will take you to Vietnam’s first national institution, the 11th-century Temple of Literature. You’ll be able to admire its gorgeous Chinese-style structures and learn about the country’s Confucianism past.

Day 8: Drive to Halong Bay for Cruise

After breakfast, a 3.5-hour drive will take you to the UNESCO World Heritage Site: Halong Bay, where you will board the cruise at around noon and have lunch onboard while sailing out into the mysterious bay. You will take an excursion to one limestone cave to view a great many stalactites and stalagmites. The 1-night stay on the cruise will be a memorable experience.

Day 9: Morning Boat Tour & Drive to Hanoi Airport for Departure

Hanoi In the morning, you will take a rowboat to explore some of the nearby islands. Then you will return to the cruise ship for brunch.
