ITINERARY

Day 1: Edinburgh – Loch Lomond – Loch Linnhe – Ben Nevis – Eilean Donan Castle – Isle of Skye

Our road to Skye takes you through the Trossachs National Park to Loch Lomond. We will stop in a picturesque village where you will be able to relax over a cup of coffee or explore at leisure. You will have amazing views of the biggest fresh water expanse in the UK: Loch Lomond. Learn the MacDonald Clan massacre’s brutal story and take in the weeping waterfalls inhabiting this amazing glen.

This highland city marks the end of the West Highland Way, Scotland’s oldest and most famous long-distance walks. There is a statue of a hiker resting overlooking Loch Linnhe. Here you can look at Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK. We visit Eilean Donan Castle (optional extra at our own expense) as we are close to the coast. Here you have the opportunity to take pictures and see the castle featured in the Highlander film. It’s time to cross the bridge to Skye Island after visiting the castle, our final resting stop of the day. Overnight at Skye Island.

Day 2: Isle of Skye

Our second day is devoted to the Isle of Skye after a hearty Scottish breakfast. Based on the climate and your party, your professional driver-guide will ensure you get the most out of your day on the island. In the lively harbor town of Portree, you will have time to enjoy a leisurely lunch (own expense). The rest of the afternoon will take you to different beautiful spots like Kilt Rock, Storr’s Old Man and a Whisky distillery where you can try some drams. Overnight at Skye Island.

Day 3: Isle of Skye – Loch Ness – Culloden Battlefield – Pitlochry – Edinburgh

We must fly from the island to Loch Ness, the deepest loch in the UK, and home to the legendary creature Nessie after another restful night on the Isle of Skye. There are many ways to experience Loch Ness ‘ beauty and mystery: maybe a Jacobite cruise to see Urquhart Castle (own expense) or just seeing monsters from the shore. It’s your decision!

Then we’re going to go to Culloden Battlefield. Here you have the opportunity to stand on the site of the famous battle of 1745 and learn more (own expense) in the interactive visitor center. We will then travel south to the beautiful city of Pitlochry situated on the Tummel River before heading to Edinburgh’s capital city.

For those who choose the pick-up point in Glasgow, please note that there will be two options on Day 3: 1) Exit the tour at the drop-off point in Edinburgh.

2) Return by train (app. 45 minutes) to Glasgow.

When you decide to return by train to Glasgow, your guide will drop you off at Edinburgh Waverley Station and give you a single Glasgow train ride voucher that takes about 45 minutes.

Please let the customer service know your preference in advance, so we can arrange before the tour starts.
