Jasper National Park

Jasper National Park in Alberta , Canada, is the largest National Park within the 11,000 km2 (4,200 sq mi) of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains. Its location is west of Edmonton and north of Banff National Park. The park includes the Columbia Icefield glaciers, rivers , streams, waterfalls, and mountains.

Jasper was named after Jasper Hawes, who ran a trading post for the North West Company in the area. The park was established as Jasper Forest Park on September 14, 1907, and was designated a national park in 1930 with the passage of the National Parks Act.
