ITINERARY
Day 1: Melbourne – Great Ocean Road – Torquay
Get away with a ride down the Great Ocean Road from the city. At approx. 7:00 a.m., we will depart to Colac Park via the Westgate Bridge, where we will stop for morning tea and introduce ourselves to our fellow travelers.
Then you will come to the picturesque and all-powerful 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, renowned Great Ocean Road residents. We should stop on the Gibson Steps to stroll along the beach and take pictures of these wonderful attractions.
And back on the path for a guided bush walk to the Great Otway National Park. Then we go to Apollo Bay for lunch in this cozy coastal area. We’ll head to the wild Koalas, Kookaburras and Parrots River next up.
From here, we’re going to visit the Split Point Lighthouse to Torquay, Australia’s surfing hub, and our night home.
We will enjoy a great Aussie BBQ or pizza dinner here.
Day 2: Torquay – Phillip Island
We will end our trip along the Great Ocean Road on the second day. But first, we will walk the beach one last morning to watch surfers paddle out early in the morning.
Instead, we pass through the beautiful seaside towns of Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove before taking a ferry to Philip Island, to visit the picturesque Mornington Peninsula for some time. Hold your heart open for dolphins and seals!
Instead, we will spend the afternoon in the Australian Wildlife Park, watching close-up and intimate Koalas, Kangaroos, Emus, Wombats, Tasmanian Devils, and assorted birds. We will be able to visit the beach of Woolamai and see the Grand Prix Course.
Then we’ll go to Nobbies, Seal Rocks to The Blowhole, and see the incredible rocky shoreline and seal colony. See the spectacular Penguin Parade display in the Visitors Center before going back to Melbourne in order to finish the ride.
