Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Cooking class

This trip will allow you to start your professional cooking career or at the very least improve your skills in cooking Vietnamese food. We’ll start the day by visiting a market to see how local Vietnamese shop for food. In Vietnamese cooking, the choice of ingredients is critical, and the chefs always pay attention to this. Otherwise, the food is subpar and lacking in freshness. Vietnamese local markets are excellent for haggling and making purchases because they are so comfortable and convenient.

14 days VIETNAM & CAMBODIA

Then we’ll get an idea of what locals prefer in terms of produce and meats, so we’ll leave the market and go to a Cooking School. To learn about the local ingredients and how to prepare some of the most popular Vietnamese dishes, take one of the classes offered here.

When and how to use the many herbs and spices that are a part of Vietnamese culture will be taught to you. You’ll be shown where to find the ingredients and shown how to prepare them for various dishes.

You’ll cook under the guidance of the chef after completing the necessary preparations. The last and most important step is to sit down and enjoy your freshly prepared meals! Ho Chi Minh City is where you’ll be spending the night.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnel – Da Nang – Hoi An by flight

Cu Chi Tunnels, a 250-kilometer-long network of tunnels, are a legendary part of the Vietnam War’s history. Tunnels were built in 1948 to aid the Viet Minh in their fight against the French to become independent of their colonizers. Over the next two decades, workers dug and built tunnels to create an underground metropolis complete with residences, kitchens, storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command and control facilities.

Thousands of people could be accommodated in the tunnels if they remained underground for an extended period of time. There, people went about their daily lives as they normally would, getting married and starting families. The entire Cu Chi region was declared a no-fire zone during the American War, and as a result, it was heavily bombed and attacked.

Two tunnel segments were made accessible to the public in 1988. Take advantage of this wonderful and educational opportunity while you can. Incorporating “moving parts,” these structures were intended to be occupied for an extended period of time before being demolished.

The nearby firing range offers the chance to fire rounds from an M16 or an AK47 from the time of World War II if you’re interested. (This is an optional extra; there will be a fee to use the firing range.). Arrive at the airport and take a flight to Da Nang (Vietnam). Pick up and transfer to Hoi An will be provided upon arrival. Hoi An is where you’ll be spending the night.

Day 4: Hoi An – Home cooking class

Are you looking forward to learning how to prepare Vietnamese cuisine? Then come to our hands-on cooking class to learn how to do it yourself. You will have the opportunity to visit Hoi An’s Colorful Market during our cooking program and take in the incredible sights, sounds, and aromas of the surrounding area. Also, you’ll be able to interact with merchants to make purchases for the ingredients you’ll need for the cooking demonstration.

The ingredients you use in your dishes are extremely important; if your ingredients are local, organic, and fresh, your dishes will be flavorful and aromatic. If not, they will be bland and tasteless. Vietnamese cuisine has a wide range of flavors and ingredients to suit any palate.

In addition to being entertaining and enthusiastic, the chef will show you how to prepare each dish before helping you make your own. Additionally, while preparing your meal, you have the opportunity to come up with new ideas for how to make your meal look and taste even better.

Cooking well is a skill that can only be honed through practice and experimentation. You’ll get to eat the meal you made after the lesson. With any luck, this trip will help you gain a better understanding of Vietnamese cuisine in general, as well as the cuisine found in Hoi An. Hoi An is where you’ll be spending the night.

Day 5: Hoi An – Foodie tour

By bicycle, explore the countryside around Hoi An and sample some of the local fares. First, we’ll take a ride through the countryside to a nearby village, where we’ll stop for some Cao Lau. To make Cao Lau, local noodles are combined with pork, vegetables, and rice paper.

The result is a mouthwatering dish that has become a local favorite. The noodles are made from sticky rice that must be soaked in water from Hoi An’s oldest well, Ba Le Well, which is widely regarded as having the best water in the world. A local family will teach you how to make white rose cakes, and you’ll get to try them out afterward.

Finally, we’ll head to Cam Nam for some Yin and Yang fare like Banh Dap and Che Bap. Taking this tour is a great way to learn about the area. Hoi An is where you’ll be spending the night.
