After we meet up at Brussels Central Station (Gare Bruxelles-Central), we’ll proceed directly to Paris, the City of Lights.
With a drive along the famous Champs Elysees to the Place de la Concorde, which played a key role in one of the darkest chapters of the French Revolution, we will begin our Paris adventure. You will get to see the famous Arc de Triomphe as well. Next, we’ll go to the Hotel National des Invalides, which is home to the tomb of Napoleon and a number of other monuments linked to France’s military past.
Next, we will ride by coach through the suburbs of Paris to the majestic Palace of Versailles, the residence of the royal family before the revolution began in 1789. In the evening, we’ll return to Paris. You may want to take advantage of an optional cruise along the River Seine after dinner.
The second day of our Paris experience starts with a visit to the Louvre, the art museums’ grand dame. Here you will set your sights on some of the world’s most precious masterpieces, including the Venus of Milo, Samothrace’s Winged Triumph, and the Mona Lisa. We’ll go to Boulevard Haussmann after lunch, a shopping paradise in the heart of Paris, where you’ll be able to shop until you drop off. Do not skip the world-famous cabaret shows at the Lido and Moulin Rouge (optional) before you leave this captivating area.
