Itinerary

Start your day adventure with a pick-up from your Prague hotel or the city center. As you travel across rural Bohemia in your air-conditioned coach, learn about Karlovy Vary, one of the Czech Republic’s most renowned spa cities. Karlovy Vary, also known as Karlsbad or Carlsbad in German, is a town on the Tepla River that sprang up around natural springs discovered by Holy Roman Emperor Charles — or Karl IV — in 1358.

Its purportedly therapeutic waters lured many prominent personalities, including composers Beethoven and Brahms, as its reputation as a health spa spread. Stretch your legs while seeing the neo-Renaissance colonnades and spring fountains along the Tepla. Enjoy free time to browse for souvenirs while sampling some of the town’s twelve mineral waters.

After visiting the Moser Glass Factory Museum, take a break for an included restaurant lunch. Moser crystal glassware and Thun porcelain are two of Karlovy’s other claims to fame. Browse the exquisite items on exhibit at the Moser shop and the Thun showroom, and buy any as souvenirs if you wish. After that, head south to Marianske Lazne, an ancient spa town in the Slavkovsky les woodland.

Take a walking tour of the town, passing through the town’s charming colonnades and parks while learning about the area’s natural springs. After tasting the waters of the famous Cross Spring colonnade, return to Prague by coach to complete your visit.
