Amsterdam – Giethoorn – Enkhuizen Dijk – Amsterdam
Passing through the typical Dutch landscape, we drive approximately 1.5 hours to Giethoorn, the Dutch Venice. In this picturesque canal town it becomes very clear how the Dutch live with, and on, the water. In Giethoorn cars are not allowed; little has changed over the centuries. You will enjoy this wonderfully preserved town on foot and by boat. On the included one-hour boat tour we`ll pass skillfully restored farm houses. After the boat tour you will have free time for lunch and self-guided exploration. Your guide can give you some tips on what to see and where to eat.
After lunch we continue to an impressive 20-kilometer long dike in the Ijsselmeer, one of the largest lakes in Western Europe. Left and right you see water and reclaimed land – polders in Dutch. We`ll make a picture stop here before returning to Amsterdam.
