Buenos Aires Walking Tour

This Buenos Aires Walking Tour is one of the most complete city tours of Buenos Aires and it allows you to discover and feel the porteña essence and culture. Using public transportation will make you part of the amazing city, going from the oldest neighborhoods to the most beautiful ones. You will explore the center of Buenos Aires, called Microcentro, walking through San Telmo, then go to the famous Caminito street of La Boca and end the tour at Recoleta neighborhood.
Private Buenos Aires Walking Tour

Our walking tour starts at San Martin Plaza, at the end of Florida street, where we’ll take the subway to the Obelisk, a symbol of Buenos Aires. From here you will walk down Avenida 9 de Julio and experience the local life of this lively street.

This avenue leads to almost every important monument of the city, allowing you to discover and observe the changes the city went through since its foundation by Spanish colonists. We will find our way to Plaza de Mayo, Argentina’s main square and political center, filled with history! We’ll visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Cabildo, Colonial Town Hall, and the Casa Rosada, the Pink Presidential Headquarters.

We’ll head down Defensa Street and head to the next stop on our walking tour, San Telmo, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. San Telmo’s antique markets, candle street-lighting, cobblestone streets, and historic buildings add to its unique bohemian atmosphere. On Sundays, an artisan market takes place on this very own street, filling up the place with activity as the main street market comes alive around the Plaza Dorrego.

After this stop, you will then have a break to take lunch. The guide can recommend a nice place for you to eat.

Then, we will take the bus to the La Boca neighborhood, known for the Boca Juniors stadium and the colorful Caminito Street. When European migrants arrived in Buenos Aires during the 20th century, they used to paint their houses with any paint they could find in order to protect their houses from humidity. You will be enchanted by the tango’s dancing and singing and learn how tango, football, and different immigration influences have made Buenos Aires one of the most irresistible cities in the world. You will also visit El Retiro and see buildings such as Edificio Kavanagh.

Then, you will hop aboard a public bus and enjoy the views on modern Puerto Madero skyscrapers and its Woman Bridge as you travel to the very chic Recoleta area, known for the impressive Recoleta Cemetery. There, you will find beautiful architecture, many museums, elegant cafes and restaurants, exclusive avenues, and shopping malls.

The tour will end at the Recoleta Cemetery, where you will have the option to enter the place (entrance fee not included) and wander around the beautiful lanes to Evita Peron’s resting place
