Upon arrival, we’ll ride the funicular from downtown to the top of the hill, where we’ll begin our walking tour of the city, traveling first through Piazza Vecchia, the heart of Old Town.

Along the way, we’ll encounter Town Hall (Palazzo della Ragione), Santa Maria Maggiore Cathedral, Colleoni Chapel, and the Baptistery.

We’ll also discover Bergamo’s fascinating history. Stretching for more than five kilometers, the medieval walls that once protected the old town of Bergamo are one of the most important relics of fortification in the 15th century.

Celts, Goths, Romans, and Lombards all presided over the city at different times, but it was the four centuries under Venetian rule that were the most significant in the town’s fascinating history and culture.
