Welcome to Madrid!
Upon arrival, please self transfer to the first night’s hotel. Here you’ll meet your tour leader and fellow travelers. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a delicious Spanish dinner and get to know your fellow travelers with an included dinner.
We will say goodbye to Madrid in the morning, and travel to Toledo, one of the numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Spain. We will have free time to explore the city on our own and come across its imposing Gothic architecture.
From here we are going to travel south to the destination tonight: Granada, a medieval town with ancient Moorish roots. Here we’ll take a guided walking tour to introduce you to its fascinating culture and history.
We’ll go from Granada via Andalusia, an area well-known for tapas, matadors and Flamenco dancers! First on the road is a visit to Ronda, home to the magnificent Puento Nuevo (New Bridge), which also divides the city. For the surrounding landscapes make sure you snap a photo here.
Eventually, we will hit Seville, one of the most famous cities in Spain. After having freshened up at the hotel, we’ll enjoy the city’s splendor with a walking tour to explore the old town and fascinating attractions, followed by a gorgeous group dinner.
Spend a day off to discover Seville’s mysteries and its rich history. Enjoy the scenic lanes and spectacular plazas of Hercules ‘ allegedly established legendary community. Relax at the many fine tapas bars in the city, stroll down cobbled streets, or visit enchanting museums.
Prepare this morning to say goodbye to Spain as we cross the border into Portugal, our destination set for Libson. Before us, the beautiful landscape will turn as we cruise the land in our luxurious ship.
When we arrive in Lisbon we will take an orientation tour to introduce ourselves to the capital of Portugal, visiting the Castle of Sao Jorge and the vibrant old town.
You’ll be free to explore the town on your own on our second day in Lisbon. Encounter mystical sites like the Monument to the Discoveries or the Bairro Alto district, home to the finest restaurants in town. And make sure you take some time to learn about the local Fado music, the world’s oldest urban folk music!
We’ll head out from Lisbon on our Portugal tour to the country’s second largest city: Porto!
Here you guide will take you on the city’s sightseeing bus tour, showing you the mighty Ponte deLuis bridge, the Clerigos Tower, and much more! Then, we’ll sample some of the famous port wine from Portugal with a wine tasting included.
Sadly we are going to say goodbye to Portugal today. But don’t worry, because there is still so much more to see!
We will make our way to Salamanca as we head back to Spain and cross countryside. Relax at the hotel on arrival, or explore the city on your own. We highlight suggestions to wander through the old city and climb to the top of the Bell Tower for sweeping city views.
For one last group dinner, we will end the day, enjoying a delicious meal with the popular Spanish tapas!
On the last day of our tour from Spain and Portugal we will depart from Salamanca and fly to Avila, a medieval town popular for its imposing city walls. Enjoy a photo stop here before we go on our travel back to Madrid, arriving in the afternoon.
