Enjoy a night out in the historic center next to beautiful Lake Zurich where you will have plenty of restaurants to choose from (own expense).
We ‘re going to Bern, Switzerland ‘s capital and one of the nation’s most beautiful and historic cities. For a picture-perfect view of the city, we’ll go to the Garden of Roses. Free time (own expense) for a walk and lunch. We leave for French-speaking Switzerland in the afternoon, and rest in Fribourg. Then we’ll drive to Nyon, a Roman-origin lakeside town. From here we take a cruise to Yvoire, a stunning medieval village across Lake Leman. The evening accommodation is in Geneva.
There will be a panoramic tour of Geneva with a local guide after breakfast. Then we drive to Montreaux for a visit to Chillon Castle, constructed on Lake Geneva waters (including admission). We’ll also visit the chocolate factory at Cailler, taste included! Continue along little roads through picturesque wooden villages in the middle of bucolic mountain countryside. Overnight accommodations are in Gstaad.
We’ll travel around the Interlaken Lakes from Gstaad, arriving at Grindelwald. Before you take the cable car up to Grindelwald-First you ‘ll have time for a cup. Lunch (vegetarian option available) is included. Afterwards we will move on to Meiringen and the spectacular Aare Gorge (including admission).
Then we reach the part of Switzerland where Italian is the official language. The evening accommodation is situated in Chiasso, a Swiss city on the Italian border.
We’ll be visiting Lugano on Day 5, the cosmopolitan capital of Italian Switzerland with its lovely lake. Exploring Lugano’s spare time. We’ll stop in Burglen, the tiny village where William Tell was born, by crossing St. Gotthard Pass. You can see a chapel from the 16th century, with paintings that depict his life. You can also visit the William Tell museum at your own expense, if you like. Also we can find remnants of the legacy of William Tell in the neighboring city of Altdorf. To Lucerne, proceed. Free time to explore this beautiful lake-side area. Departure to Zurich, and arrival at the end of the day. The closure of our programs.
