We will leave Madrid and fly to the area of Extremadura to meet Trujillo, the birthplace of many Spanish conquistadors. To explore its stunning and monumental Plaza Mayor, you will have free time.
We will then cross the Portuguese border to Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, at the mouth of the Tagus River. Accommodation is available in Lisbon for the next three evenings.
To attend a Fado show (own fee), you may enter an optional night tour.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a sightseeing tour of the city of Lisbon to see the Alfama Quarter, Belem Tower and Los Jeronimos Monastery.
In the afternoon, you’ll have free time of your own. For an extra charge, you can take an optional excursion to Sintra, Estoril and Cascais.
We’ll have breakfast and then fly to Fatima, a popular destination for religious pilgrimages. You’ll have free time to visit the Fatima Sanctuary, also known as Our Lady of Fatima Basilica.
We’ll return to Lisbon later.
We will depart from Lisbon after breakfast, crossing back over the border to Spain. We will continue to Caceres, where you will have time to visit the Plaza Mayor of the city at your leisure and to stroll around the Old Town of Caceres. Free lunch time (own expenditure).
Then we’re going back to Madrid to finish off your tour.
