Temple of Literature

The Văn Miếu (Temple of Literature) is a Chan (monastic) temple dedicated to Confucius in Hanoi, northern Vietnam. The temple also hosts the first national university in Vietnam, the Imperial Academy. At the time of Emperor Lý Thánh Tông, the temple was built in 1070. It is one of the temples devoted to Confucius, sages and academics in Vietnam.
